Obituary

HERKIMER - Nadezhda "Dina" Drobot, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, the 8th of June 2015. She was born in Kharkov, Ukraine in the spring of 1932. During WWII Dina and her family were forced into German labor camps. After the war, her family emigrated to Argentina where she lived for about 10 years. This is where she met her husband. They were married in the fall of 1956, and in December of 1958 emigrated to Jordanville, N.Y. They established their home near the Holy Trinity Monastery, which she loved so much. She was known, and is fondly remembered as a "lively people person", who always managed to take the time to lift up ones spirits. She always cared for everyone, even when she was struggling with her own health issues. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband, Reverend Wsevolod Drobot, her sister and brother in-law, Vera and Rev. Vladimir Schlenev, and sons Nicholas, Serge, John and his wife Ellena, and daughters Maria, Olga (Agarkov), Xenia, Sophia and her husband Jack Heinen, and grandchildren Christina, Livia, Juliana, Timothy, John, Gabriel, Raphael and Daniel, and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours, but there will be a requiem service held at Holy Trinity Monastery Cathedral on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday 11th of June, at 1:30pm, at the Holy Trinity Monastery Cathedral in Jordanville,N.Y.
