MOHAWK Donald W. Aney, age 93 of Rock Hill Road, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, October 4, 2017, in Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. He was born on September 20, 1924 in the Town of Warren a son to the late Milton W. and Myrtle Guyer Aney. Donald was raised and educated in the Town of Warren. He attended schools in Cranes Corners, Jordanville and later High School in VanHornesville. On September 3, 1949, he married Lois Ann Plever on the family farm; a blessed union of 56 years until her passing in 2005. He was a Dairy Farmer owning his own dairy farm, Henderson View Farm on Rock Hill Road. He took great pride in his farm and worked it until 2015 when finally retired. Mr. Aney was a member of the Herkimer County Farm Bureau and the Dairy Farmers of America. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten. Surviving him are two sons; Garry Aney of Mohawk and Darryl Aney of Mohawk, three daughters; Linda Wainwright and her husband Alan of Nelliston, Gail Aney of Mohawk, Lisa Grant and her husband Brian of Smyrna, GA, four grandchildren; Joshua Crews, Randy Crews, Jacqueline Grant and Liam Grant, a brother, Eugene Aney of Mohawk. Besides his parents and his wife Lois Ann he was preceded in death by two brothers Gordon and Alson Aney. Funeral Service for Donald W. Aney will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
