Donald J. Barrett West Winfield-DonaldJ. Barrett 53 of Wall Street died on Saturday, August 26, 2000 in FaxtonHospital, Utica.He was born on July 30, 1947 in Cooperstown, son of thelate Elmer and Clara Jakubek Barrett. Don was raised in Richfield Springs onCanadrago Street and was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. It was inthe late 1970s that he moved to West Winfield where he has resided since. Formany years he was a machinist for the Chicago Pneumatic Company, Utica and forthe past two years for the River Hawk Company in Yorkville. He loved theoutdoors and was an avid hunter, going on hunting trips with his close cousinsLeo and Howard Barrett. He was a member of Saint Josephs Church RichfieldSprings.
Besides his parents Elmer and Clara he is preceded indeath by a brother Alfred Barrett in 1970, an Aunt Marie Saltys in January ofthis year and his dear friend and devoted companion Shirley Plows in 1996.
Surviving him are Shirleys seven children, hertwenty grandchildren, Dons special God Child Victoria Peplinkski Luke ofTennessee, and several cousins.
Funeral from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Josephs Church Richfield Springs at 10:00 AM with the Reverend Terrance Healy officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Josephs Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday evening 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the West Winfield Volunteer Fire Department or the Richfield Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home
