MOHAWK Donna M. Conroy, age 68, of Greenwood Terrace, passed away on Friday November 9, 2018, in Faxton St. Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford. Donna was born on June 15, 1950 in Herkimer, a daughter to the late Clarence and Esther (Frechette) Theriault. A lifelong Mohawk Valley resident she was raised and educated in Herkimer. She was employed with Herkimer County BOCES until her retirement in 2006. Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; whether she was in the common room at her building, trips to the Lyon farm, or out to Rons house in Liverpool. Her laughter and wittiness could light up a room. One of her favorite quotes: A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world might be different because I was important. She was definitely important and loved by those close to her. She is survived by her son Ronald Conroy and his wife Jacqueline of Liverpool, a daughter Kelly Conroy St. Petersburg, three grandchildren Benjamin Smith of Rome, Ian Conroy and Lily Conroy both of Liverpool, great grandchildren Melissa and River both of Rome, her devoted sister Susan and her husband Robert Lyon of Herkimer, a nephew Robert Lyon and his wife Beth their children Isabelle, Emma, and Robert, a niece Jaclyn Santmier and her husband Scott of Herkimer along with uncles and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her aunts and infant niece Amanda Lyon. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's hospital. In keeping with Donnas wishes, her services will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be made in donations in her memory to the March of Dimes.
