Doris Doxtator, 94 of the Claxton Apartments, 104 N. Washington Street, and formerly of Sherwood Acres, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born on January 4, 1911 in Fleming, NY daughter of the late George and Jennie (Wheeler) Babcock. Raised and educated in Fleming she graduated high school and continued her education graduating from Normal School. On June 26, 1935 she married Claude C. Doxtator in Fleming. For over 25 years she taught kindergarten and first grade in Waterloo and Seneca Falls retiring in 1968. Doris had resided in Herkimer since the early 1990 coming from Auburn. She is survived by 2 daughters, Margery Foreman of Herkimer, Cynthia and her husband Ronald Berghoff, DDS, of Mayfield, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Claude she was preceded in death by her four sisters. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
