HERKIMER Dorothy Whitney Rowe-Fellows, 86, of 104 North Washington Street, died on Thursday morning, May 11, 2000, in Folts Homes. She was born on April 28,1914, in Syracuse, a daughter of the late Prof. Rich D. and Calla BrewsterWhitney. Raised and educated in Syracuse, she was a graduated of SyracuseUniversity with a degree in drama. In 1939 she married theReverend Malcolm L. Rowe in Syracuse. They shared a loving and devoted marriageuntil his passing in June of 1951. In 1961 she married David Fellows in Camillushe died in 1971. She had been employed with Niagara Mohawk in the PublicRelations Department. During her lifetime Dorothy was involved in awide variety of actives including competitive amateur athletics as anaccomplished swimmer and speed skater. She had been active in many church programs, along withteaching Sunday school; her greatest enjoyment was producing and directingmusicals and drama presentations. For many years she was anactive volunteer for the March of Dimes as well as raising money for the FoltsHome missionaries. In 1991 she moved to the Tucker Building of Folts Home comingfrom Syracuse. She was a member of the University Methodist Church in Syracuse. Surviving are twodaughters, Susan Rowe Beal and her husband Bruce of Glen Rock, NJ, WinifredWhitney Rowe of New York City; two granddaughters, Pamela Cotto, of Brooklyn andHeather Imirie of Baltimore, MD; one brother, The Reverend Leonard Whitney ofCamillus; two sisters, Jane Roberts of Pulaski, Ruth Nyberg of Stockton, CA,several nieces and nephews. Besides her two husbands, a sister Harriett Borcheuspreceded her in death. Graveside services celebrating Dottieslife will be held on Saturday at 1:00p.m. in Mexico Cemetery, Mexico, NY.
