BURLINGTON FLATS - Dorothy E. Tamburello age 88 of County Highway # 16 passed away on Friday morning August 12, 2016 in A.O. Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta. She was born on March 13, 1928 in Brooklyn, daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Siegert Witcomb. Dorothy was raised in Queens and was a graduate of Richmond Hill High School. On June 3, 1951 she was united in marriage with Peter G. Tamburello in Glendale. They shared a loving and devoted union of fifty-six years until his passing on July 25, 2007. For fifteen years Mrs. Tamburello worked as a secretary for the Glendale Medical Center, retiring in 1980. It was that year that she and her husband moved to Burlington Flats to make their home, coming from Glendale. For five years they worked together at the Fly Creek Cider Mill in Fly Creek before permanently retiring. Mrs. Tamburello was a spiritual person with a strong faith in God. While living in Glendale she was a devout member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church. To all who knew her she was a caring, loving and gentle woman with an unforgettable smile. In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking and her family cherished those many warm aromas that came from her kitchen. She will be sadly missed. Surviving are two sons, Frank Tamburello and Robert Tamburello both of Burlington Flats, three grandchildren, Peter Tamburello, Timothy Tamburello both of Glendale, Victoria Tamburello of Queens. Besides her parents and husband Peter she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Charles Witcomb. A funeral service for Mrs. Tamburello will be this coming Saturday at 11:30 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. Father Silvaster Sarihaddula, Pastor of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs will officiate.
