RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Dorothy J.Woudenberg, 68, of County Highway # 24 passed away on Friday morning December15, 2000 in Faxton Hospital, Utica. She was born on May 19, 1932 in Angola,Portuguese, South Africa, daughter of the late Corneilius and Olive BettelPontier. Dorothys parents were missionaries in South Africa. She was educatedin African schools and later in Zelwood, FL where she graduated High School. On November 25, 1952 she married John C.Woudenberg in Passaic, NJ. In 1967 they moved from Wycoff, NJ to RichfieldSprings For thirty-five years she worked as a sales representative for the NewYork Telephone Company, retiring in 1991. A member of the Richfield SpringsBible Church she was active in many of their groups and activities. Surviving besides her husband of forty-eightyears, John are two sons, The Reverend Ronald Woudenberg and his wife Sherry ofPenn Yan, Robert Woudenberg and his wife Jacqueline of Ilion; a sister, Joye andher husband Alfred Miller of Richfield Springs; five grandchildren, Rebekah,Timothy and Abigail Woudenberg of Penn Yan, Jacob and Emily Woudenberg of Ilion,several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will take place on Sunday at3:00 p.m. in the Richfield Springs Bible Church with the Reverend RonaldWoudenberg and the Reverend Duane Durand officiating. Interment will be nextspring in the Twilight-Rest Cemetery, Monticello. The family will be present inJ. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home to receive relatives and friends onSaturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to3:00 p.m. (one hour prior to the funeral service) in the Richfield Springs BibleChurch. Memorial donations may be made to the American LeukemiaSociety or the Richfield Springs Bible Church Youth Fund. Envelopes will beavailable at the funeral home.
