HERKIMER - Dorthea L. Heinzelman, 96, of 104 N. Washington St., formerly of South Bellinger Street, entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning, June 24, 2004, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. She was born Oct. 14, 1907, in Norwich, Conn., daughter of the late William and Mary Ann McDermott Loefler. Dorthea was raised and educated in Norwich. On July 14, 1950, she married John P. Heinzelman in Lake Winola, Pa., loving and devoted union of 38 years. Mr. Heinzelman passed away on Jan. 31, 1989.For six years Mrs. Heinzelman worked for the Remington Arms Company in Ilion, but for most of her life she took great pride in being a homemaker. She was a member of Evening Valley Chapter 82 Order of the Eastern Star.Her close friend Joan Parsons of Herkimer survives her.Funeral service will be on Monday at 1 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer. The Rev. Patti Lawrence, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Herkimer, will officiate.Friends may call to pay their respects one hour prior to the funeral (noon to 1 p.m.). Immediately following the funeral service Mrs. Heinzelman will be laid to rest with her husband in Calvary Cemetery
