RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Douglas J. Kraynak, age 64, of Hoke Road, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, September 19, 2009, in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. He was born on August 11, 1945, in Cooperstown. A lifelong area resident he was educated in Richfield Springs Central School. He later became a self-employed painter. On February 15, 1985, he was united in marriage with the former Marcia Jean Stevens in Tribes Hill. They shared a loving and devoted union of sixteen years until her passing on January 21, 2001. Surviving him are three cousins, Dorothy Holz of Glen Cove, LI, William Harkins of Bayside and Jennifer Harkins, of Richfield Springs. Besides his parents and wife Marcia, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, David Kraynak, in 1978. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, at 1:30 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Terrence Healy, Pastor of Saint Joseph the Worker Church West Winfield/Richfield Springs will officiate. Interment will follow in the Springfield Center Cemetery. Family members will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Saturday, one hour prior to the funeral service.
