Richfield Springs - Earl W. Murphy Sr. age 95 ofMcShane Roadpassed away on Friday morning April 2, 2010 in Little Falls Hospital, Little Falls. He was born on January 12, 1915 in Newton, NJ, son of the late John and Rose Campbell Murphy. He was educated in Hamburg High School. Mr. Murphy was a veteran of both World War II and Korea serving first with the US Navy for two years and for twenty two years in the US Army. He was honorably discharged in 1965 attaining the rank of Sergeant. On June 12, 1958 he was united in marriage with the former Laura Esther Decker in Nectong, NJ. They shared a loving and devoted union of thirty-six years until her passing on August 20, 1994. Surviving are two sons, Earl W. Murphy Jr. and his wife Elaine of Gouverneur, Leo Murphy of Port Jervis, two daughters, Barbara Cortwright of Port Jervis, Shirley Murphy of Pompano Beach, FL and his step-daughter, Betty Pullis with whom he resided, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm in the Branchville Cemetery, Branchville, NJ. Calling hours in J.
