Edith R. Empey Richfield Springs-Edith R. Empey, 93, of Richfield Springs, died onSaturday, November 18, 2000 in Little Falls Hospital. She was born on November 9,1907 in New York City, daughter of Francis Arnold Stahli of Berne Switzerland and MargaretO'Brien of Dublin, Ireland.
Her love of knowledge, books and lively discussions enriched her work in public andschool libraries, her Christian faith and her many traveling adventures in the UnitedStates and abroad. She was always there when she was needed.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Allen Empey in 1965, brothers Arnold Francisand Charles Geddes Stahli, a sister Janet Merrigan, and a son Charles Clayton McCullough. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Sherrie McCullough of Largo,Fl, daughter and son-in-law Barbara Allen and David Elmore of Davenport, son anddaughter-in-law Kenneth and Jacque Empey, daughter and son-in-law Susan and Brian Stetson,and son and daughter-in-law Michael and Monica Empey all of Richfield Springs. Edithis also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandson.
There will be no formal calling hours. A memorial service for family and friendswill be held in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs,on Saturday November 25, 2000 at 1pm. Interment will be at Crown Hill Memorial Park,New Hartford next spring.
