RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Edna Mae Furner, age 87, of Cullen Rd., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon, March 20, 2008, in her home.She was born on September 18, 1920, in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Casper H. and Philomena Schneider McIlhargie. Edna was raised in Detroit, MI, and was a graduate of Detroit Public Schools. She furthered her education, graduating from the Detroit Business Institute.On May 6, 1944, she was united in marriage with Stuart Francis Furner in Detroit. They came from Cassville to Richfield Springs in 1951, where they owned and operated their dairy farm on Cullen Rd.To Mrs. Furner, her family and home were foremost in her life. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed.Surviving are her loving husband of 63 years, Stuart Francis; two sons and their wives, Thomas and Sharon Furner, of Lansdale, PA, Charles and Patricia Furner, of Richfield Springs; one brother, Edward McIlhargie, of Plymouth, MI; four grandchildren, Stuart and Michael Furner, and Amanda and Joseph Furner; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John McIlhargie and Edward McIlhargie.At Mrs. Furner's request, funeral services are to be private at the convenience of the family.
