Stratford - Edna Daub Merritt, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2006 in the Loretto Nursing Home, Utica. She was born on October 12, 1913 in the Bronx, a daughter of the late Victor and Carolina Krajicek Daub. Raised and educated on Long Island she moved to Stratford in the early 1950s. While living on Long Island she was employed with the Blue Point Laundry. On December 9, 1970 she married Arthur Merritt in Salisbury. Edna was strong willed and independent. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting and continued to crochet even when her vision failed. Surviving are two nieces and one nephew, Gladys Harris of Van Hornesville, Irene Turner of Central Islip, LI, Christopher Pierce of Manchester Tenn. several great nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister Irene Pierce. Funeral service and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., Herkimer.
