Richfield Springs - Edna A. Oldick age 83, formerly of Bronner ManorApartments, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 9, 2002, in the home ofher daughter Diane Buell of Route 51, Town of Exeter. Shewas born on December 1, 1918 in Ilion daughter of the late Samuel and LulaMaulkins Helmer. A lifelong arearesident was educated in Mohawk Schools. OnSeptember 1, 1939 she married Harold J. Oldick in Mohawk a loving and devotedunion of fifty-one years until his passing on June 1, 1991. For a short timeMrs. Oldick worked as a Nurses Aide for Clark Nursing Home in RichfieldSprings. Ednahad a strong belief in God and led a devoted Episcopal life. She was a member ofSt. Marys Episcopal Church, Springfield Center, a member of Arbutus Chapter#317,Order of Eastern Star, Richfield Springs, and the Richfield Springs SeniorCitizens. In her leisure time she was an avid card player. Survivingare three sons and their wives; Donald and Nancy Oldick of Warren, Charles andDale Oldick of Little Falls, Stephen and Linda Oldick of East Springfield, onedaughter; Diane and her husband Kenneth Buell of West Exeter, a brother-in-lawGeorge Oldick of Albany, eleven grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren,several nieces, and nephews. Besidesher parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister; Gertrude Mercerand a brother-in-law; Howard Oldick. FuneralService will be held on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Marys Episcopal Church,Springfield Center with the Reverend Persus Williams, officiating. Mrs. Oldickwill then be laid to rest in the Springfield Center Cemetery. TheFamily will be present to receive friends and relatives on Sunday from 4:00until 8:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, RichfieldSprings. Membersof the Arbutus Chapter #317 Order of Eastern Star are asked to gather at the funeralhome on Sunday at 7:30 pm for ritualistic service. MemorialDonations may be made to the Arbutus Chapter #317 Order of Eastern Star, RichfieldSprings, Catskill Area Hospice, or St. Marys Episcopal Church. Envelopes areavailable at the funeral home.
