MOHAWK-Edward C. Johnson age 71 passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 8, 2016 in his home. He was born on November 24, 1944 in Herkimer, son of the late Wesley and Elizabeth Rhode Johnson. A lifelong area resident he was a graduate of Herkimer High School, class of 1962. On July 17, 1965 he was united in marriage with the former Janice Mae Reinhardt in Mohawk. They made their home and raised their family in Mohawk. Mr. Johnson was employed as a Tool & Dye Maker. He worked for Mohawk Data Sciences, Chicago Pneumatic Company, Fermer Precision and Indium in Utica. He retired in 2014. In his leisure time he enjoyed working around his house, on his Corvette and being a handyman. To all who knew Ed, he was a caring, helpful and friendly man who was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all. Surviving are his loving wife of fifty-one years, Janice, three sons, Edward James Johnson and his wife Cara of Ilion, David Michael Johnson of Albuquerque, NM, Michael David Johnson and his wife Christina of Chicago, IL, a daughter Colleen Marie Bunce and her husband Ronald of Mohawk, one brother, James Johnson and his wife Jessica of Ilion, six grandchildren, Audrey and Anna Bunce, Tessa, Morgan, Brody and Riley Johnson. Calling hours for Mr. Johnson will be on Saturday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer.
