RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Edward Eugene Ostrander age 40 of Monticello Road passed away on Monday evening April 16, 2012 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born on September 6, 1971 in Utica, son of Elmer Ostrander Jr. and Claudia J. Bond Ostrander. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident he was educated in Richfield Springs High School. For the past two years he has worked as a welder at American Standard Manufacturing Company in Central Bridge.
Ed had a strong love for the outdoors.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking as well as riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. No matter what season of the year it was, he never wasted a day at having a good time. To all who knew him, he was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and family especially his cherished son Michael.He will be sorely missed and never forgotten
Surviving are his loving mother, Claudia of Richfield Springs and father, Elmer Ostrander, Jr. of Schuyler Lake, one son, Michael Ostrander of Leonardsville, Edwards devoted companion Beth Brink, a brother, Billy Ostrander of Richfield Springs, one sister, Sandra Lansdall of Rock Hill, SC, two nieces, Caitlyn Lansdall and Calee Ostrander, two nephews, Lance Corporal Jeffrey Lansdall, USMC and Brady Ostrander, his faithful canine companion D.J. several cousins.He was preceded in death by a daughter, Little Niki Ostrander in 1994.
Mr. Ostranders family will be present in the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Funeral service in the funeral home will be on Saturday morning at 11:00 am with the Reverend John Young officiating.Interment will follow in Schuyler Lake Cemetery
