RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Eileen J. Haney Edick, 74, of Church Street, passed away on Monday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2012, in Little Falls Hospital. She had the comfort of her loving family by her side.She was born on July 29, 1937, in Delhi, daughter of the late Bruce and Dorothy Flummer Haney. Eileen was raised in Treadwell and was a graduate of A.L. Kellogg High School in Treadwell.On Oct. 6, 1979, she was united in marriage with Shirley Russell Edick in Fly Creek. She and her husband have resided in Richfield Springs for the past 35 years.For 15 years Mrs. Edick worked on her own as a home health care aide, retiring in 2002.In her leisure time she enjoyed watching game shows on television, going to yard sales and collecting angels.Eileen took great pride in her home and family. She loved to cook for her many friends and family. To her family, precious are those memories of the warm aromas that came from her kitchen while preparing a great meal. A loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother she was always there for them both in good times and bad. She will be sorely missed.Surviving are her devoted husband of 32 years, Russ; a son, Steven Davidson of Kingston; one daughter, Lori Fisher and her husband, George of Saugerties; three stepsons, Russell Edick and his wife, Tammy, Jeff Edick, all of Richfield Springs, Russell Ray and his wife, Tammy of New Berlin; three stepdaughters, Lori Edick and her husband, Ronald of Ilion, Shirley Winton and her husband, Keith of New Berlin, and Karen Zvirdzin and her husband, Russell of Sylvan Beach; one brother, Jerry Haney and his wife, Joyce of Fly Creek; two sisters, Janice Chamberlin of Otego, and Sharon Sohns and her husband, Klaus of Treadwell; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides her parents; she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Haney; a son, Daniel Edick in 2002; and a stepson, Timothy Edick in 1983.Calling hours for Mrs. Edick will be from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday at J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs. Funeral service will follow immediately at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Pastor David Tosi of the Richfield Springs Bible Church will officiate. Interment will be in Unadilla Forks Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
