Elaine M. Augar, 66, of Dolgeville passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Alpine Rehab and Nursing Center, Little Falls after a courageous battle with cancer.

Elaine was born on March 11, 1959, the daughter of the late Gilbert Goutremont and Marjorie Aldi.  Elaine was raised and educated in Dolgeville.  She was married to Donald Augar until his passing on April 3, 2010.  Elaine was employed by Daniel Green Shoe Company, Dolgeville and Lasalle Labs Manufacturing, Little Falls.  Elaine was kind, loving person and she will be missed by all that know her.  Elaine was also a big animal lover as well.

Elaine is survived by her loving son Justin Smith, sisters Brenda Lyon, NC, Christine Lamberson, TX and several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents Gilbert, Marjorie and her husband Donald.

In keeping with Elaine's wishes, there will be no calling hours or formal service at this time.  A private graveside service may be held at some time in the future.

Mrs. Augar's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Alpine Rehab and Nursing for their care and compassion.  Also special thanks to Ryan Snell, Justin's lifelong friend, for the support he himself has shown to Elaine and Justin.
