HERKIMER - Elberta A. Douglas went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2005. She was born on November 5, 1930. Elberta May Austin was the only child of Brayton and Mildred Austin. She is survived by her four children, Edwin C. Douglas and his wife Merrill, Carol A. Getman and her husband Madison, Bette R. Seamon and her husband Tex and Stephen L. Douglas, plus seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Among her many relatives she had a special place in her heart for Sylvia LoVette Pauline Deforest, Burton and Jane Blackman and Bob and Sue Austin. A last Thank You and I Love You to life friends Doris Evans, Nicki Young and Edie Schlain. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am in the Assembly of God Church, Sidney. Pastor Joseph Chamberlain will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Upton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Inc. envelopes will be available at the church. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc. Herkimer.
