RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Eleanor J. Kroll age 95 of State Highway # 28 passed away peacefully on Friday morning May 11, 2012 in her home.She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was born on November 7, 1916 in Hartwick, daughter of the late Felix and Lucy Sobon Janiec.A lifelong Richfield resident she was educated in Richfield Springs. On June 20, 1936 she was united in marriage with Frank Kroll Jr. in Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. They shared a loving and devoted union of thirty-seven years until his passing in 1973. Mrs. Kroll had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Richfield Springs.To those who knew her, she was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family came before anything else in her life.She was always there for them in weather it was good times or bad. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are her son with whom she resided, Richard J. Kroll, a daughter, Caroline Sarafin both of Richfield Springs, two sisters, Rose Serbaniwicz of Herkimer, Josephine Cotton of Mohawk, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren several nieces and nephews. Calling hours for Mrs. Kroll will be on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday morning at 10:30 am.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Richfield Springs at 11:00 am.The Reverend Terence Healy, Pastor will officiate.Interment will follow in Saint Josephs Cemetery.Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Catskill Area Hospice.
