ILION - Eleanor VanSickle, 83, of Rockwell Drive, died peacefully Tuesday,March 22, 2000, in her home.She was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Ilion, a daughter of the late Paris and EllaWilliams Richardson. A lifelong Ilion resident, she was educated in Ilionschools. In 1937, she married Lester Carl Ernst in Utica. He passed away in1954. In 1960, she married Leo VanSickle in Frankfort, who preceded her in deathin 1970. Eleanor had worked for General Electric, Standard Desk Company andCon-Med, retiring in 1980. In her leisure time she enjoyed recreational bowling.Surviving her are a brother, James Richardson of Ilion; two sisters, GladysScanlon of Ilion and Florence Scanlon of Gloversville; and several nieces andnephews.Two sisters, Harriet Slotnick and Esther Berghold predeceased her.Graveside services in Oak Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date to beannounced.Memorial donations may be made to the Sue Campagna Hospice of HerkimerCounty, 301 N. Washington St., Suite 2343, Herkimer 13350.Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court St.,Herkimer.
