Obituary

HERKIMER-Eleanor Florence Weber age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening February 8, 2014 in her home. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side. She was bornon August 3, 1933 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Francis and Helen Smith Raymonda. A lifelong Herkimer resident she graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1951 and continued her education at Herkimer County Community College. On December 6, 1952 she was united in Holy Matrimony with Douglas N. Weber in Saint Francis deSales Church in Herkimer. Together they shared a devoted union of nearly thirty-seven years until his passing on November 8, 1989. For sixteen years Eleanor worked as a full charge bookkeeper, at Perfex Cleaning Supply Manufacture in Poland retiring in 1998. She then worked part-time for the Boy Scouts of America as a book-keeper. Mrs. Weber was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church in Herkimer. She was also a member of the Crowley Barnum American Legion Post #25 Ladies Auxiliary in Mohawk. In her leisure time she enjoyed bowling and line-dancing. To all who knew her she was a loving, caring and helpful lady. She loved her family, each and every one of them, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed. Surviving are one son, Douglas K. Weber of Ilion, five daughters and their husbands, Paula and Joel Layaw, Marcia and Larry Baylor all of Herkimer, Donna and Danny Bernier of Greenville, TN, Sheila and Chris Mathews of Frankfort, Patricia and Dennis Meszler of Apex, NC, nine grandchildren, Larry M. Baylor and his fianc Caitlin Davidson, Douglas S. Baylor, Tiffany L. Stetson and husband Scott, Patrick W. Bernier, Christopher J. Mathews, Amber L. Mathews, Selena R. Mathews, Alexandra N. Meszler, Samantha P. Meszler, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband Douglas she was preceded in death by a daughter Frances Weber, two brothers, Edward Raymonda and Raymond Raymonda, a sister Carol Raymonda and grandson Craig Bernier. Calling hours for Mrs. Weber will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer with the Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor officiating. Interment will be later this spring in Calvary Cemetery. Eleanors family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to caregivers, Tammy Hendrick, Nicole Benedict and Kelsey Marriott for their care and compassion shown to Eleanor. The family prefers memorial donations in Mrs. Webers memory to Hospice and Palliative Care or the Alzheimers Association as an alternative to flower offerings. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
