**Gratia Dei a poem authored by Elizabeth while she was in high school
Gratia Dei
Who lights the fiery torch of stars and moon
When Darkness gathers Earth into its arms;
And who to man and bird and beast does croon
The whispring winds that cast a thousand charms,
The force that blends the shades of sunset glow
And sparkling spectrum that soft showers bring
Is mute. Still, when balmy breezes blow,
The thrush begins to warble it is spring!
Yet few perceive how pounding pulses prod
And prompt these kin of nature to awake-
To light the trails that tired travelers trod-
When folds of night gay sunbeams overtake,
The grace of God is wrought to man through Thee.
Oh Nature, soul of all eternity.
