RICHFIELD SPRINGS Elizabeth Mae Stickles, age 82, of County Highway 22, Richfield Springs passed away on Wednesday afternoon, August 11, 2004 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She had the comfort of her family and special friends at her side at the time of her passing. Elizabeth was born on June 2, 1922 in Syracuse a daughter of the late George and Ruth Riley Schultz. She was a lifelong area resident who was raised and educated in Richfield Springs. On July 13, 1940 she married Claude L. Stickles in Richfield Springs a devoted and blessed union of 52 years until his passing on June 4, 1993. A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She was a member of Bridgewater Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving her are two daughters; Claudia Fox and her husband John of Mocksville, NC, and Carolyn Stacey and her husband Joseph of Phoenix, AZ, a brother; William Schultz of Durhamville, two special friends Gail Lewis of Edmeston and Diane Gilbert of West Winfield, and special nephew and niece Rodney and Charleen Jones of Richfield Springs. Besides her husband Claude two sisters; Gloria Jones and Ruth Brundt preceded her in death. Funeral services will take place privately at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs.
