MOHAWK-Elsie Cady age 85 of East Main Street passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon February 18, 2014 in her home. She was born on January 7, 1929 in Glen Falls, daughter of the late William and Myrtle Bovair Cady. Elsie was raised and educated in Glens Falls. She at one time had worked as a launderer in the Glens Falls area and at the Hudson Valley Nursing Home in Hudson, before coming to the Mohawk Valley. On April 10, 1998 she came to reside at the Forbes Family Care Home of Mrs. Susan Forbes, where she had continued to enjoy her stay until the time of her passing. Miss Cady was active in the OCI Seniors Program where she made many personal friends in the group. To those who knew her they will never forget her beautiful smile. She will be missed greatly. Surviving Elsie are her dear friends at OCI and the Forbes family. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Bertha Cady. Calling hours for Elsie will be on Friday at from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Janet Gleason officiating, pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls officiating. Interment will be later this spring in the Glens Falls Cemetery, Glens Falls, NY.
