HERKIMER-Elsie Case age 70 of West Street, entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning May 8, 2004 in Folts Homes, Herkimer.
She was born on April 24, 1934 in Remsen, daughter of the late Kon and Stella Sarnofski Parmon. A lifelong area resident she was raised in Herkimer and graduated Herkimer High School with the Class of 1951. For ten years she worked for the Herkimer County Agriculture Soil Conservation Service, retiring in 1961.
On November 27, 1957 she married Lewis H. Case in the Herkimer Reformed Church. They have resided in East Herkimer since 1977.
Not only was Elsie a wonderful wife and mother but also a talented musician who played the piano. For over forty years she played at functions for the Herkimer Free Methodist Church. At one time she had taught Sunday school. Elsie loved children, enjoyed garage sales, flowers and was especially proud of her doll collection.
She had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church, Herkimer. Elsie will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person. She will be greatly missed by many especially her family.
Surviving besides her husband of forty-six years Lewis are one son Dr. Jonathan Case, PHD and his wife Miriam of Melbourne, Australia, a daughter Rachael Dehaan and her husband Eric of Herkimer, five sisters, Stella and her husband Harvey Stocker of FL, Sophie Valente, Ruth Weber and her husband Warren, Joan Parmon and Elizabeth Parmon all of Herkimer, five brothers, John Parmon and his wife Sheila of Lafayette, David Parmon of FL, Edward Parmon and his wife Joanne, Harold Parmon and his wife Doris all of Herkimer, William Parmon of Little Falls, a granddaughter Carolyn Case of Melbourne, Australia, many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents a sister, Jennie Ovanna and three brothers, Adam, Peter and Kon Parmon, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will take place in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Tuesday at 11:00 am. The Reverend Jack Cogar will officiate. Following the funeral service Mrs. Case will be laid to rest in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in the funeral home today (Monday) from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.
