Obituary

WEST WINFIELD - Elsie DeBoer age 68 of Brace Road passed away on Sunday morning October 7, 2001 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She was born on July 1, 1933 in Caldwell, New Jersey, daughter of the late Richard and Tietje Stienstra Falkena. Elsie was raised and educated in New Jersey. On May 4, 1951 she married Clarence DeBoer in Goshen. A blessed union of thirty-seven years until his passing in 1987. For thirty-five years she and her husband owned and operated their own dairy farm in East Springfield, retiring in 1987. She had a strong belief in God and lived a devoted Christian life. She was a very active member of the Trinity Christian Reformed Church, Richfield. She was one of the founders of the church, the church school and was a councilor with GEMS. To all that knew her they will remember her warm smile and friendly way with people. Surviving her are a son; Kenneth and his wife Andrea DeBoer of West Winfield, three daughters; Nancy and her husband Gerald Zupruk of Bethlehem, PA, Peggy and her husband John VanWieren of West Winfield, Heidi DeBoer of West Winfield, four sisters; Ruth Wheeler and, Jennie Mikulski both of Middletown, Lois Zungia of Tucson, AZ, Linda Knoppers of Alberta Canada, eleven grandchildren; Rachel DeBoer, Brian and David Zupruk, Amy, Sarah, Julie and Samuel DeBoer, Dawn, Kristen Debbie and Elsja VanWieren, four great grandchildren; Jesse, Dustin, Naomi and Lily, many nieces, nephews and several cousins. Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Trinity Christian Reformed Church; Richfield Springs with Pastor Kenneth Prol officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery. The family will be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs to receive relatives and friends on Monday (today) from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Christian Reformed Church, Richfield Springs. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
