Ethel H. CulbertRICHFIELD SPRINGS - Ethel H. Culbert, 83, of 23 Park Street, died on Mondaymorning, December 12, 2000 in Folts Homes, Herkimer.A daughter of the late Wayne Harvey and Lillian Mutchler Hadcox, she was bornon July 12, 1917 in Little Falls. A lifelong area resident she was educated inRichfield Springs graduating High School with the Class of 1934. She had worked,as a waitress in many of the Richfield Springs Restaurants and for 23 years wasemployed as a bank teller with the State Bank of Albany. She retired in 1983 asthe Head Teller. On June 20, 1942 she married Pulaski B. Culbert in ChristChurch, Herkimer. A devoted union of 34 years until his passing on December 7,1976. She was a member of St. Johns Church, Richfield Springs and had served onthe Altar Guild, and a 58 year member of the Richfield Springs American LegionAuxiliary. Ethel was gifted with many talents, having a good perspective fortunes she was a self-taught pianist. She enjoyed nature, especially birds andflowers and painting with water colors. Surviving are 3 sons and their wives, Charles F. "Fred" and MaureenCulbert of E. Springfield, James P. and Phyllis Culbert of Midlothian, VA, JohnE.C. and Paulette Culbert of Williamsburg, VA; eight grandchildren, JamesCulbert, Christine Wright, Michael Culbert, Heather Culbert, Katherine Pawlak,David, Megan and Michelle Culbert, a sister, Lillian Young of Little Falls andtwo nephews. Besides her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a brotherEdward Hadcox. A reading of the Burial Office and Celebration of Holy Communion from theBook of Common Prayer will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Saint John'sEpiscopal Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend John Dixon Bartle, rector willofficiate. Interment will take place next spring in Lakeview Cemetery, RichfieldSprings. Memorial donations may be made to the Richfield Springs Volunteer Ambulance.Envelopes will be available at the church. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West JamesStreet, Richfield Springs. There are no calling hours.
