HERKIMER - Ethel V. Sharp, 80, of theCountry Manor, Middleville Road, formerly of 547 Lake Street, went to be withher Lord and Savior on Sunday morning August 20, 2000, in St. Lukes MemorialHospital Center, New Hartford.
She was born on April 11, 1920 inWolfeboro, NH, daughter of the late Walter and Edith Glidden Clifford. Ethel wasboth raised and educated in Wolfeboro. On August 13, 1945, she married James L.Sharp in Wolfeboro Falls, NH, a loving and devoted union of forty-six yearsuntil his passing on April 15, 1992. She came to Herkimer with her family in1947 and in 1995 moved to Mohawk where she lived with her daughter. Mrs. Sharpwas a member of the First United Methodist Church where she sang in the ChurchChoir and belonged to the United Methodist Women. Her leisure time was spentsewing, crocheting, baking and making teddy bears.
Surviving her are a son, James N., andhis wife Dorothy Sharp of Canajoharie; one daughter, with whom she resided,Susan, and her husband George Walrath of Mohawk; a sister, Margaret Foss; asister-in-law Carol Clifford both of Farmington, NH; five grandchildren; twogreat-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins and her lifelong friendCelia Wentworth of Union, NH. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by 3brothers, Walter, Paul and Irwin; and four sisters, Rose, Theresa, Ruby, andPearl.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. inthe First United Methodist Church Herkimer with the Reverend William Otis andReverend Eugene Kipper, pastor of the Word Christian Center, Herkimer,officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, town of LittleFalls. The family will be present in FENNER FUNERAL HOME INC., 115 Court Street,Herkimer to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
