MOHAWK-Eunice Clara Brown McCoy, met her Savior face to face on Monday May 10, 2021. She was the eldest of four daughters, born on August 6, 1927 to William And Mildred Brown, On July 23rd, 1948 she married the love of her life, Allston (Jay) McCoy Jr, Their union was blessed for 55 years until his death in April of 2003; and resulted in a legacy spanning four more generations. She is survived by her a sister, Shirley (Ed) Hassett, her children Pastor David McCoy, Mary Ann White, Nancy (Reverend Douglas) Weygand, Robert McCoy and a beloved daughter-in-law, Anne (Gerald) Gallagher. Also her 18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She was predeceased by her husband Jay, a son, William Allston McCoy, a daughter-in-law, Christine Berg McCoy, a son-in-law, Reverend Roger White, sisters; Corrine Lynch and Helen Neff; a grandson-in-law, Dale Sampson and her great granddaughter, precious Baby Grace.
In addition to operating Homestead Farms with her husband, she previously worked in the payroll departments of Chicago Pneumatic and Mungers Department Store. Her last job was with Herkimer County Social Services.
Eunice and Jay were active in the Gideons International, opening and revitalizing several camps throughout New York State. She was an active volunteer at Little Falls Hospital, accruing more than 1000 hours of service. Her pies were popular items at the auction during the hospitals annual radio-thons.
Her faith, her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, was the most treasured part of her life. It lifted her up during sad times. It brought even more joy during happy times and sustained her in difficult times. Her gift was her ministry of sending cards to everyone for birthdays, anniversies, encouragement, military members and college students. She attended the First Baptist Church in Little Falls and loved her church family as she loved her own.
She loved her family dearly. In addition to cards there were always phone calls for those special occasions, usually occurring at early morning hours. There were many family gatherings always including food. Her granddaughters and grand-daughters in-law have her recipes in her own handwriting.
Her family would like to thank those special people who provided such compassionate care to her and so much kindness to her family-you're amazing. To put it in Eunice's own words; "Okay, Thank you."
Calling hours for Mrs. McCoy will be on Saturday June 5th, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in the First Baptist Church, Little Falls. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Chris Wintermute officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
