ILION-Evelyn G. Mower age 59 of Brennan Road passed away on Saturday morning January 29, 2011after a short illness in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. She was born on September 29, 1951 in Ilion, daughter of David and Jane Riddell Knewasser. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of Mohawk High School. On December 6, 1991 she was united in marriage with James S. Mower in Canastota. For the past eight years she was a sales associate with Hummels Office Supply in Herkimer. She was of the Methodist faith. To all who knew her they will never forget a warm, caring and loving person who was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her cherished grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are her devoted husband of nineteen years, James, two sons, Jason Waseleski and his companion Crystal, Michael Waseleski and his companion Danielle Lawrence all of Mohawk, one daughter, Grace Mower and her companion Ryan Lewis of Ilion, one brother, David Knewasser Orlando FL, two sisters, Patty Anderson of Blue Earth, MN and Michael Moore of Canastota, four grandchildren, Morgan and Brady Waseleski, Nicholas Mower and Mason Waseleski, her step-mother, Katherine, a step-brother, Lynn Gifford of Mohawk, three step-sisters, Kathleen Manolas, Kari Lessel and Kelly Albrecht along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Kim and one sister, Marilyn. A gathering of friends and relatives will be held on Thursday February 3rd from 5:00 until 9:00 pm in the Crowley-Barnum American Legion Post # 25, 43 West Main Street, Mohawk. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society or the Crowley-Barnum American Legion Post # 25. Envelopes will be available at the gathering at the American Legion Post. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., Herkimer.
