JORDANVILLE - Evelyn Jane Petriski, age 73, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, August 5, 2008 at the Otsego Manor, Cooperstown, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on August 7, 1933 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Floyd and Beatrice Bukato Fraizier. A lifelong area resident she was educated in Mohawk. On July 5, 1952 she married Steven Petriski. He predeceased her on August 31, 2001. Evelyn was a kind and caring person who had a smile that would brighten your life. She enjoyed her home and family, gardening and making crafts. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are one son and his wife Steven and Beverly Petriski of town of Warren, a daughter Mary Jo Sykes and her husband Stephen of Otego, granddaughters, Sarah and Anne, two sisters, Carol Brewer and her husband John, and Victoria Bronner all of Richfield Springs, one brother Robert Frazier and his wife Donna of Chehalis WA,, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews including Melissa and Andrea and several cousins. Besides her parents and husband Steve she was preceded in death by a sister Joanne Eckler on April 24, 1970. Calling hours will be on (today) Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am in St. Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery.
