Obituary

MIDDLEFIELD- Florence H. Loomis, age 74, of State Highway 166, died on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital Cooperstown as a result of injuries sustained after a car accident. She was born on April 29, 1931, a daughter of the late Lewis J. and Hazel Scott Clements. A lifelong area resident she was educated in Herkimer High School. She had lived in Richfield Springs and Cooperstown before moving to Middlefield in 1995. For ten years she was employed by Brooks Pharmacy, Cooperstown, retiring in 1993. Florences life had always revolved around her family. When her children were young she was active with school activities and Girl Scouts. She was an avid reader, enjoyed watching all sports and was a Buffalo Bills fan. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring person who gloried in the presence of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are her three daughters and their husbands, Mary and Dale Clinton of Cooperstown, Susan and Wesley OHare of Odessa, MO, Kathleen and Michael Waro of Cooperstown, three sisters, Elizabeth Eggleston of Richfield Springs, Louise Ainsworth, Nancy Conklin and her husband William all of Herkimer, eight grandchildren, Laura Kelsey, Cynthia Loucks, Patrick Shepard and his companion Sarah Millenback, Sean Clinton, Shannon OHare and fianc David Marles, Leigh OHare, Justin and Kyle Waro, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Frederick Clements, her brother-in-laws, Douglas Ainsworth and Alvin Eggleston, sister-in-law Helen Clements, and two nephews, William Conklin, Jr. and Alvin Madison. Funeral Service will be on Saturday at 10:00 am in Christ Episcopal Church Herkimer. The Reverend Paul Bailey, Rector will officiate. Interment will follow in Mohawk Cemetery. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
