HERKIMER-Florence Richer age 72, a longtime resident of East Herkimer passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening June 29, 2017. She was born on March 28, 1945 in Ilion, daughter of the late Oakree and Bernice Hall Bolen. She was a graduate of Herkimer High School with the class of 1964. Florence was married at one time to Richard T. Kuchenbacker. She later married John W. Richer. He preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Richer had worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utica and Watertown, retiring in 1991. Florence had a strong faith in God and was a member of Herkimer Branch Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There she was a Relief Society Secretary, Bulletin Set-Up Person, Single Adult Representative, Nursey Leader, Primary Secretary and Primary Teacher. To all to who knew her she was caring, good natured, helpful lady with a great sense of humor. Most of all she loved her family and they truly loved her in return. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving her are Oakree Kuchenbacker of Mohawk, William Richer and his wife Faye of East Herkimer, Tammy Kuchenbacker and Steve Pori of Chittenango, Elizabeth Cross and Jerry Damon, Violet and Richard Crim all of Herkimer, seven grandchildren, Amanda E. Hopson, and her husband Jason, Kane A. Kuchenbacker, Lee Ann and Samantha Pori, Angel and Rachel Crim, and Emily Cross, three great grandchildren, Evelynn, Gabrielle and Selena Cherished friends Larry and Nicole Martinson, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours for Mrs. Richer will be on Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 am in the Herkimer Branch Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Gros Blvd. Herkimer. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer Branch Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints Missionary Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
