Obituary

ILION - Floyd C. Parmer age 79, of Elm Street, passed away Monday, October 13, 2008 in St. Elizabeths Hospital, Utica. He was born on September 4, 1929, in Edmeston, a son of the late Arthur Odell and Hattie (Layman) Parmer. A life long area resident he attended West Canada School. For twenty years he had worked as a machinist for Parks Lumber Yard, retiring in 1976. He was a honorably discharged US Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. In 1970 Floyd married the former Lillian Everson in the Scotsbush Church in Oppenheim. She preceded him in death of April 29th of this year. He was a member of the Newport Baptist Church. Surviving are a step-daughter Francine Rognoni and her husband Louis of Rome, a sister Cora Nightengale of North Fort Myers, FL, two step-granddaughters, and their husbands, Carla and Jeff Davidson of Brockport, Christina and Doug Fries of Madison, Ala. five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife Lillian of 38 years, he was preceded in death by his two brothers William and Arthur Parmer. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. There are no calling hours. The family would like to thank Art Parmer, his nephew for keeping him company during his time spent in physical rehabilitation and to Carla, his granddaughter for helping him and giving him love always.
