Obituary

MOHAWK-Frances J. Innes age 86 of Church Street, entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning September 19, 2004 in Folts Homes Herkimer. She was born on January 3, 1918 in Ilion, daughter of the late Frederick and Martha Spurr Jackson. A lifelong Mohawk resident, she was a graduate of Mohawk High School class of 1937. She furthered her education, graduating from the Utica School of Commerce. On June 1, 1940 she married Lewis W. Innes in the Mohawk Methodist Church. With Lewis she had a loving and sharing union of sixty-four years. Mrs. Innes had been employed over the years at the Duofold Mill in Mohawk and the Bendix Corporation in Utica. She retired from the Oneida National Bank in 1980 after twenty-one years of faithful and dedicated service. Frances had a close relationship with God and for sixty-six years was a member of the Mohawk United Methodist Church where she held several offices, including twenty-one years as the Financial Secretary. As a long time member of the United Methodist Women, she served as Treasurer at both the District and Annual Conference levels. In 2000 she and her husband Lewis were recognized at a Mohawk District Dinner for their many long and faithful years of membership and dedicated service in the Mohawk Congregation of the United Methodist Church. She was a forty-four year member of the Mohawk Chapter # 319 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Matron and held several other offices. Mrs. Innes will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person. She will be greatly missed by many especially her family. Surviving are her husband Lewis W., two sons, Alan L. and his wife Mary Innes of Harrington Park, NJ, Ronald Innes of Mohawk, a brother the Reverend Frederick and his wife Alice Jackson of Camden, two sisters, two sisters, Esther Miller of Mohawk, Naomi Parker of Ilion, a brother-in-law Ross Innes of Herkimer, his cherished granddaughter Jennifer M. Innes of New Jersey, several nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews as well as cousins Rex and Clara Finster of Canajoharie. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Beryl W. Jackson and a sister Lucia Hoffman. Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Her brother, The Reverend Frederick Jackson will officiate. Mrs. Innes will be laid to rest in Mohawk Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Member of Mohawk Chapter # 319 OES are asked to meet at the funeral home at 7:30 pm on Tuesday for ritualistic services
