NORTH PORT, Fla. - Frances Mary Lepine, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, June 23, 2004, in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
Born in Richfield Springs on May 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Michael Garbera Sr. and Mary Peplinski Garbera. Raised and educated in Richfield Springs, she graduated high school with the class of 1949. She then attended the Beauty School of Albany, working in that field for several years. She married Dennis Lepine of Malone, N.Y., on July 14, 1951, in Richfield Springs. They were blessed with four children. In the years that followed, the family lived in many homes from Maine to Florida, due to the demands of her husband's work assignment. For several years while living in New Jersey she was manager of a large storage facility. In 1990 they retired to Florida where Denny is semi-retired working for Nielsen TV rating.Fran was a person of high energy and principle. She was always available to her family and friends. A loving and caring person, she will surely be missed but never forgotten by all those who knew her. She enjoyed being a mom and working in and around her home. Her leisure time was spent doing crossword puzzles, reading and family games, especially Scrabble. She took pride in being a blood donor on a regular basis.She was a devoted Catholic and was a member of San Pedro Church in North Port, Fla.Besides her husband of 54 years, Dennis, she is survived by her four children and their spouses, Rick and Debbie Lepine of Philadelphia, Pa., Ron and Robin Lepine of Houston, Texas, Michele Lepine of Philadelphia, Pa., Yvette and Robin O'Neal of Port Charlotte, Fla.; four grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jane Coretti of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Morganna Garbera of Richfield Springs.A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs, with Sister Patricia Woolheater officiating.The family will be present in the funeral home on Sunday two hours prior to the service from 1-3 p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
