HERKIMER-Frances M. O'Donnell age 80 of Church Street passed away this morning Thursday June 27, 2002 in Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica.
She was born on April 8, 1922 in New York City, daughter of Marie E. Stuart Fagan and the late William P. Fagan. A graduate of Mount Saint Ursla's in New York she furthered her education graduating from the College of Saint Rose in Albany. After graduation she worked as an Electron Encephalogram Technician for Albany Medical Center. On April 15, 1950 she married Philip D. O'Donnell in Saint Theresa's Church in Albany. She then moved to Herkimer where she and her husband have resided since. She was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer, the Herkimer County Historical Society, the Herkimer Food Pantry and the Herkimer Memorial Hospital Guild. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person who was happiest when surrounded by her friends and family especially her grandchildren.
Surviving besides her husband of fifty-two years Philip are her mother; Marie E. Fagan of of Herkimer, a son; Philip D. O'Donnell Jr. and his wife Diane of Herkimer, one daughter; Ellen O. and her husband John R. Nalley III of Danbury, CT, one sister; Helen M. Fagan of Herkimer, seven grandchildren; Megan O'Donnell, Caitlin F. O'Donnell, Bridget C. O'Donnell, Phillip D. O'Donnell III all of Herkimer, Elizabeth S. Nalley, John R. Nalley IV, Patrick O. Nalley all of Danbury, CT, several nieces and nephews. Beside her father a brother William E. Fagan preceded her in death in 1986.
Funeral from Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Saturday at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer at 10:00 AM. The Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday (today) from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Saint Francis deSales Parish Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family of Mrs. O'Donnell wish to thank the Nurses and Staff of Saint Luke's Memorial Medical Center Intensive Care Unit and Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center fourth floor Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the third floor Intensive Care Unit for the care and love shown to Frances and her family during her hospital stay.
