Obituary

Herkimer - Frances Parker, 91, of 690 West German St., and formerly of Delray Beach Fla., passed away on Friday evening January 19, 2008 in Valley Health Services Inc. She had the presence of her devoted granddaughter Linda as well as the peace and comfort of knowing her loving family was thinking about her and being in touch with her constantly during this most difficult time. She was born on August 8, 1916, in Boston, Mass., daughter of the late Morris and Celia Zaff Cohen. Frances was raised and educated in Boston. On July 10, 1938, she was united in marriage with George Parker in Sharon, Ma. Mrs. Parker chose to be a stay-at-home Mother to her children. In 1979 she and her husband retired to Delray Beach, Florida where they enjoyed their retirement until moving to Herkimer in 2006 to be closer to their family. All who knew her will remember a loving, caring, and selfless woman who was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by all of them. Surviving are a daughter, Marsha Mason and her husband Irving Mason of Herkimer; four grandchildren, Linda and her husband Duane Sidney, Richard Mason, Michael and his wife Karen Mason, Daniel and his wife Kathryn Mason; 11 great grandchildren, Lisa and Jimmy Mason, David, Andrea and Michelle Mason, Chad, Matt and Leah Mason, Kelsey, Andrew and Cameron Mason, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, who predeceased her in May 2007, she was preceded in death by a son, Howard Parker, three brothers, Louis, Oscar, and Julius Cohen, and two sisters, Sarah Gladstone, and Martha Moseon Goldberg. Funeral service and interment are private and at the convenience of the family. Shiva will be observed at the home of her granddaughter Linda Mason-Sidney, 814 Dennis Lane, Herkimer on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Valley Health Services Inc., 690 West German St., Herkimer 13350, or Little Falls Hospital, 140 Burwell St., Little Falls 13365 or to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff of Valley Health Services Inc. for the loving kindness, care, compassion, and professionalism shown to Frances and her family during her stay.
