EAST HERKIMER Francis G. Cirillo, age 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2012, in St. Elizabeths Medical Center. His family was there tocomfort him. He was born on February 14, 1946, in Herkimer a son of the late Frank and Palma Corelli Cirillo. A lifelong Herkimer resident he graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1965. A US Army veteran he served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on April 12, 1968. On September 25, 1970 he was united in marriage to the former Sandra Boyer in the First Baptist Church Herkimer. For over fifteen years he was employed as head custodian with Herkimer High School. He then went to work as a machinist for the Rome Cable Company retiring in 2005. When his sons were young he was a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR racing and was skilled at woodworking. He will always be remembered as a caring family man who enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by his many friends and especially his family. Surviving besides his devoted wife Sandra of forty-two years are two sons, Peter Cirillo and his wife Cindy of East Herkimer, Paul Cirillo and his companion Charity, two daughters, Lisa Eckler and her husband Scott of Little Falls, Jodi McGovern of Herkimer, his brother Ronald Cirillo and his wife Karen of Frankfort, ten grandchildren, Megan, Nicole, Brittney, Victoria, Jennifer, Breanna, Makayla, Lyli, Emma and Logan, two great- granddaughters, Riley and Neveah. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
