HERKIMER - Francis W. Miller Doc age 86 of Church Street formerly of Eastern Avenue passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2006.
He was born on March 21, 1920 in Herkimer, son of the late Walter and Alice Stokey Miller. A lifelong Herkimer resident he was a graduate of Herkimer High School. A printer by trade, for many years he had owned and operated the Franklin-Miller Press on Smith Street. He later was employed by UNIVAC for thirty years and also worked for ATI Company in Fort Herkimer before his retirement.
On March 4, 1954 he was united in marriage with Doris M. Telock Cristiano in Ilion. A loving and devoted union of thirty-nine years, until her passing on December 16, 1993.
Mr. Miller was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. Doc was gentle man who enjoyed doing for others. To his family he was always there for them in good times and bad. Nothing will ever detract from the joy of knowing him.
Surviving are one son Joseph Cristiano and his wife Janet of Pleasanton, CA, a daughter, Donna Sharp and her husband Robert of Herkimer, one brother Howard Miller and a sister Helen Collins both of Florida, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Mass and interment will take place at a later time to be announced. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer.
