COOPERSTOWN George C. Kondrick, age 73 of County Highway 16, Burlington Flats, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon November 30, 2017 in Focus Rehabilitation and Nursing at Otsego. George was born on November 26, 1944 in Brooklyn a son to the late John A. and Catherine Schaefer Kondrick. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn and graduated from Richmond Hill High School. On June 25, 1969 he married the former Cheryl Niebling in Queens, a loving union 48 years. He was a Mailer with the New York Times in their Manhattan Office for 40 years, he retired in 2005. For many years, he and Cheryl owned land in Burlington Flats as a place to get away, but in 2005 they made it their home. George enjoyed the outdoors, in Burlington, their pond, his many apple trees he so taken care of and the hundreds of oak trees that filled the land. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a member of the NRA. Surviving him are his wife Cheryl, a son Craig Kondrick of Burlington Flats, three daughters; Catherine Konovitch and her husband Peter of Levittown, Christine Kondrick of Glendale, Cynthia Kondrick of Burlington Flats, a brother John Kondrick and his wife Frances of Burlington Flats, a sister Catherine Schumacher of East Hampton, Long Island, five grandchildren; Christopher Konovitch and his wife Nicole, Kevin Konovitch and his wife Sarah, Timothy Konovitch, Sean Kondrick and Sabrina Kondrick, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Charles Kondrick and a brother Robert Kondrick. Calling hours for Mr. Kondrick will be on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 pm in J.
