Obituary

HERKIMER-George J. Madore age 84 of Gloversville, formerly of South Bellinger Street passed away on Friday February 17, 2006 in Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. He had the comfort of his loving daughter and son-in-law at his side. He was born on April 7, 1921 in Tupper Lake son of the late Urgelle and Helene Elise Carron Madore. George was raised and educated in Tupper Lake. On November 26, 1955 he was united in marriage with the former Pauline Annutto in Saint Anthonys Church, Herkimer. A devoted union of forty-four years she preceded him in death on November 13, 2000. Mr. Madore first worked as a lumberjack with a logging company in Tupper Lake. Upon moving to Herkimer in 1955 he went to work for the Library Bureau and in later years for UNIVAC and Mohawk Data Sciences retiring in 1986. He had a strong belief in God and was a member of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer and St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville. He was also was a member of Saint Anthonys Crusaders and the Anthony R. George Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Herkimer. To all that knew him they will remember his quiet manner and warm smile. He enjoyed gardening and working in his greenhouses. To his family he was a man who was always there for them in good times or bad. He was especially proud of his two beautiful granddaughters and the joy that they gave him. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are his daughter, Georgina and her husband Rick Viscosi, two granddaughters, Georgina Marie and Felicia Richelle Viscosi all of Gloversville; a sister Delia Connor of Tupper Lake, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife Pauline he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elzear, Lawrence, Edgar, Clarence and Wilfred; three sisters, Bernadette Delair, Hazel Dowe, Dorothy Richer; five brothers-in-law Philip Annutto, Anthony Annutto, Alphonso Annotto, Nick Annatta and Al Massaro; and four sisters-in-law Florence Annutto, Elizabeth Lidano, Lillian Morra, and Anntoinette Campagna. Funeral from Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Monday at 11: 30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon in Sts. Anthony and Josephs Church, Herkimer. The Reverend Anthony Ligato, Pastor will officiate. Interment will be later this spring in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm
