MOHAWK - George E. McCaw, 74, of Oregon Road, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 2003, in Ellis Hospital, Schenectady. He was born April 26, 1929, in East Herkimer, son of the late George W. and Helen J. Lowell McCaw. A lifelong area resident, he was educated in Mohawk schools. On Aug. 2, 1980, he married Florence A. Bullock in St. Johnsville. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Florence; his children, Todd McCaw USAF, Alaska, James McCaw and his wife Laura, Cindy McCaw, Wendy Chrisman and her husband Ed, all of Little Falls, Christine Condon and her husband William of Mohawk, Florence Doolen and her husband David of Virginia, Cindy Wells and her fianc Jerry Miller of Cooperstown, Linda McCaw of Ilion, Jackie Stanley and her husband Louis of Dolgeville, Brenda Wells and her husband Wade of Mohawk; three brothers and their wives, Robert and Margaret McCaw, Walter R. and Dale McCaw, John L. and Rose McCaw; one sister, Mary June Hight and her husband Otto, all of Mohawk; 22 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George, and a brother, James McCaw. Funeral service will be on Thursday evening at 7 in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
