HERKIMER-Geraldine Marie Bowman Garlock age 87 passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in FoltsBrook Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Herkimer. She had the comfort and support of her loving family at her side. Geraldine was born on July 26, 1934 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Ebert and Gladys Thompson Bowman. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. For many years she was employed by LaSalle Labs in Little Falls, retiring in 1997.
In her earlier years, Mrs. Garlock was an active member of both the Herkimer Polish Club and the Herkimer American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary. To all who knew her, she was a loving, caring and giving lady. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her loving family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.
She is survived by four daughters, Roberta Hall and her companion Dale Battisti of Lassellsville, Barbara Guyer and her husband John of Mohawk, Carol Begley and her companion Brian Herringshaw of Mohawk, Crystal Hurteau and her husband Terry of Herkimer, a sister, Beverly Reile and her husband Ronald of Ilion, sixteen grandchildren and forty-six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Garlock Jr. this year (2021), her devoted companion of forty years, Clarence Guyer, in 2014, one sister, Pearl Guile and a brother, Ebert Bowman.
At Mrs. Garlock's request there will be no funeral service at this time. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Interment will be later next spring in Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc. 115 Court Street; Herkimer.
