RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Geraldine Ann Crist Gerry age 82 passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning March 21, 2018 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. She surrounded with the peace and comfort of her loving family at the time of her passing. Geraldine was born on March 29, 1935 in Cooperstown, daughter of the late Howard and Ethel Stickles Crist. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident she was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1953. She continued her education at Geneseo State Teachers College, graduating with a degree in teaching. Miss Crist first taught Kindergarten and First Graders in Canandaigua and then went on to teaching those grades in Richfield Springs Central School for Thirty-four years. She retired in 1995. Gerry had a strong belief in God and was a member of Saint Johns Episcopal Church in Richfield Springs where she served several times on the church Vestry and was also a member of the Altar Guild. She had a strong sense of community and was a member of Otsego-Hartwick-Arbutus Chapter #201, Order of the Eastern Star, Cooperstown, a volunteer at the Richfield Springs Food Bank and the Lakeview Cemetery Board of Directors. To all who knew her she was a kind, caring and helpful lady who was always ready to help where needed. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, especially loyal canine friend Cricket. Surviving her are one brother, Ronald and his wife Alice M. Crist of Richfield Springs, two nieces, Jennifer Millett and her husband Michael of New Hartford, Lisa Kafer of LasVegas, NV, a great niece, Kristen Millett, a great nephew, James Millett, and cousins David and Lucy Crist of Fl. Geraldines family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Saturday March 31st from 9:30 to 10:30 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. A Funeral service with Holy Communion will celebrated at 11:00 am in Saint Johns Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs with the Reverend Jill Stellman, Priest in Charge. Interment will take place later this spring in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs at a time to be announced. As an alternative to flowers her family wishes memorial donations be made to the Saint Johns Episcopal Church, 98 Main Street, Richfield Springs, NY 13439.
