RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Gerda M. (Schanz) Mower, 45, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, in Bassett Healthcare Cooperstown. Born Feb. 9, 1959, in Herkimer, she was a daughter of Elisabeth (Thuro) and the late Adam Schanz. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident, she graduated Richfield Springs High School in 1977, and continued on at SUNY-Potsdam. Most recently she was employed as the manager of the Park Lounge Inn of Richfield Springs and the West Winfield Tavern.Surviving are her daughters, Sarah and Shirley, both of Richfield Springs, Laura of Litchfield; her mother, Elisabeth Schanz; her fianc, Barry Brownell; two brothers, Horst and Maggie Schanz, Steven and Gudrun Schanz, all of Richfield Springs; two sisters, Kathy Schanz of New York City and Elizabeth and Malcolm MacNaught of Goodyear Lake; her former husband, Wayne Mower of Richfield Springs; grandchildren, Kyle Mower and Logan Tripple, Andy and Holly Brownell, children of her fianc; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Her father, Adam Schanz, preceded her in death in 1998.The funeral service was held on Saturday in J.
