Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Gretchen Mary (Mouse) Lindenmayer, age 47, passed away on Sunday March 27, 2011 in her home.A lifelong area resident she was born on July 15, 1963, in Ilion General Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph R. and Anne Klaptesky Lindenmayer formerly of Middleville, now residing in Summerville, SC.Gretchen was raised with her six brothers on the family farm outside of Newport. She excelled both academically and athletically as a member of the basketball and track teams at West Canada Valley High School.She furthered her education at Ithaca College where she received a degree in Physical Therapy. After many years of working as a Registered Physical Therapist with various school districts and public health organizations across Central New York in a field that she loved, she founded her own successful Physical Therapy practice in Richfield Springs where she worked until her passing. To her many friends in Richfield Springs, Gretchen will always be remembered as a loving, caring and hopeful person.She found much joy in doing for others without expecting anything in return. She will be greatly missed. Surviving besides her parents Joseph and Anne are six brothers and their wives, Tom and Laura Lindenmayer of Summerville, SC, Marty and Kathleen Lindenmayer of Kent, CT, Jim and Margo Lindenmayer of Waleska, GA, Will and Jennifer Lindenmayer of St Louis, MO, Drew and Margaret Lindenmayer of Little Falls, Joe and Kristen Lindenmayer of Atlanta, GA, nieces and nephews, Elise, Anna, Candace, Megan, Brittany, Benjamin, Adair, Riley, Marc and Melissa, one grandniece, Savannah Grace, several cousins and a multitude of friends throughout the area.. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday at 7:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends two hours prior to the memorial service 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society or the Susquehanna ASPCA. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
