GHENT - Gwendolyn R. Goldberg, 79, of 210 German Church Road, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 24, 2003, in Pine Haven Nursing Home, Philmont.
She was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Harry and Lillian Savaski Feinstein. Gwendolyn was raised in Chicago and graduated high school there. On Feb. 17, 1949, she married Abie Goldberg in the Temple Beth Joseph, Herkimer. For 29 years she assisted her husband in his veterinary practice at the Valley Veterinary Clinic in Herkimer, retiring in 1975. She and her husband have resided in Ghent since 1992, coming from British Columbia. Mrs. Goldberg had a strong belief in God and was a member of Temple Beth Joseph, Herkimer, as well as the Sisterhood of Temple Beth Joseph. She will be greatly missed by many, especially her family. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Abie Goldberg; two sons, Ivan J. Goldberg of Jersey City, N.J., and Lynn E. Goldberg and his wife Akima of Forest Hills, L.I.; one daughter, Rachel Ann Kyler and her husband Kenneth of Naples, Fla.; one granddaughter, Marika Goldberg of Forest Hills, L.I.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Temple Beth Joseph, Herkimer. Following the service, Mrs. Goldberg will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., Herkimer.
